How do I remove my seat belts?

Seat belts are actually really easy to remove without the need of a mechanic! First and foremost, we always recommend that you disconnect your battery as a safety precaution. Next, locate the trim covering the seat belt you wish to remove. Using a trim removal tool or a flat head screw driver, remove the trim. Unscrew any screws or bolts along the way. Once you get to the seat belt assembly, simply unbolt it and disconnect the wire plug. It's that easy!

Will this repair service clear my airbag light?

If your airbag light is only giving you codes related to the seat belts, then YES this seat belt repair service will clear your airbag light on! However, if your airbags deployed, you will need to reset your airbag module in addition to replacing the airbags in order to clear your airbag light. We offer an SRS airbag module reset service to clear your airbag light by erasing all crash data and hard codes found in your airbag unit. To order the SRS airbag reset service, please see SRS AIRBAG MODULE RESET.

Why should I repair my seat belts?

Seat belts are designed to save lives and are in place to only help you. Ignoring any faults in seat belts can really cost you your life. It is very important for you to always make sure your seat belts are functioning properly and there are no warning lights indicating any problems with the seat belts. If your seat belt is indeed faulty you should repair them to stay safe! This is also a requirement to pass safety inspections as well as salvage inspections.

Are all seat belts the same?

No. While all seat belts carry out the same task, different cars use various manufacturers for their seat belts and different models depending on the vehicle design and functionality. For example, large SUV's will have different seat belt types than small convertible cars. Also, depending on the crash tests and the vehicle's design, some cars may be equipped with secondary pretensioners such as those found in buckles (female part of the seat belt) for safety. There are over 100 different seat belt models.
